::I SEE YOU:::
To the mother who was just asked, “how many kids do you have?”
I see you.
To the mother who was just told, “I’m sorry there is no heartbeat”
I see you.
To the mother who had to make the heartbreaking choice to say goodbye; before saying hello.
I see you.
To the mother who is expected to just “be happy you are pregnant again”
I see you.
To the mother who just got her period.
I see you.
To the mother who has decided to not try again.
I see you.
To the mother who has her baby’s name tattooed on her body to serve as a reminder to others that they were here; they existed.
I see you.
To the mother who held your child too briefly in your arms.
I see you.
To the mother who is smiling but behind the smile is intense sadness that keeps you up until 4am searching for…something.
I see you.
To the mother who has been forever changed.
I see you.
To all the mothers who have experienced the profound loss of a baby,
I see you.
Always. All ways.
October 15 is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day. Please join myself and others around the world as we light a candle at 7pm in each time zone, creating a wave of light as we remember each baby gone too soon.
