We all will experience grief of sorts in our life and yet it is rarely talked about. So when we are confronted with grief we often don\u2019t know how to navigate through it, we get stuck.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been journeying through grief now for 12 years. My journey started when my step-father passed away suddenly in 2008 and has continued these past 6 years as I\u2019ve navigated through recurrent second-trimester pregnancy loss. I\u2019m well acquainted with grief; we\u2019ve become good buddies butting heads every now and then.<\/p>\n

As I\u2019ve navigated through this journey here are a few things that have been helpful for me in my journey.<\/p>\n

1. A Few Good People<\/strong><\/p>\n

Surrounding myself with a few good people who are empathetic and understand the complexities of my journey in one way or another has been life saving. This doesn\u2019t mean all the people on my \u201cfew good people\u201d list have experienced the death of a step-parent or have experienced recurrent pregnancy loss. But, they are acquainted with grief of sorts and are able to sit with me in my pain and grief. Here are some of the qualities I\u2019ve noticed in these people.<\/p>\n
